How it started
From Grief to grace: The story behind our Italian Kitchen
They say that food has the power to heal, to bring people together, and to carry the memory of those we love.
For us, that truth became the heart and soul of our journey. Our story began with a profound loss – the kind that changes everything. My eldest son, Kristopher, who was full of laughter, dreams, and kindness, passed away far too soon.
There are no words strong enough to describe the hole that opened in our lives. In the quiet after the chaos, in
the long nights of grief, I found myself reaching for the things that reminded me of him: Our long family dinners; the way he’d sneak bites of my sauce before it was ready, the pride he took in cooking alongside me.
Cooking had always been part of our lives – it was how we celebrated, how we comforted, how we stayed connected to each other. And it was something my son loved deeply. One night while I was making his favorite dish –Fettuccini Alfredo – I realized something: I couldn’t bring him back, but I could keep his spirit alive.
So, we opened a small Italian restaurant – not flashy, not trendy, but honest. Authentic. Every dish is made the way we cooked at home, with recipes passed down through generations, with flour – dusted hands, and love folded into every layer of pasta. His picture hangs in the restaurant, watching over us.
Our restaurant is more than a business. It’s a tribute. Every plate we serve carries a little piece of him. It’s our way of turning grief into something beautiful, of sharing the warmth of family with others who may also need a place to feel at home. This is why we do what we do. Not just to feed people-but to honor a life that meant everything.
